Audi R8 GT3 spotted testing at the Nurburgring

You're looking at the spy shots of the meanest Audi ever built. Testing hear at the Nurburgring in Germany, The Audi R8 GT3 is currently undergoing high-speed testing and will eventually be sold as a race car by 2009.

Power comes from a V10 engine that makes 550-hp. It will be mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox. Of course the Audi R8 GT3 won't carry the quattro system to meet GT3 regulations, so you're probably looking at the only rear-wheel-drive R8 ever built.

Production will take place in very limited numbers so we're guessing pricing will be very high.

Head over to AutoExpress for full spy shots.
